Starting June 20, 2025, the Government of Canada is launching the Canada Strong Pass, a powerful new initiative designed to encourage youth and families to reconnect with the beauty, culture, and heritage of our homeland.
🚆 Free Train Rides for Youth
All Canadians under 18 can enjoy unlimited free travel aboard VIA Rail trains this summer — as long as they’re accompanied by a parent or guardian. Whether it’s the Rockies or the Maritimes, Canada is yours to explore.
🖼️ Free Entry to Museums and Galleries
Across the country, national museums and art galleries will open their doors free of charge to youth under 18. It’s time to experience Canada’s stories where they’re told best — through history, art, and culture.
🎭 Cultural Discounts for Young Adults (18–24)
For those aged 18 to 24, the Strong Pass includes major discounts on cultural attractions, helping young Canadians experience theatre, exhibitions, and historical sites affordably.
🌲 Free National Parks & Heritage Sites for Everyone
From June to August, ALL Canadians can access national parks and historic sites for free — with added discounts on camping fees. It’s not just about travel — it’s about reconnecting with what it means to call this country home.
🛤️ Inspired by 2017’s Canada 150
This isn’t the first time Canada has done this. Back in 2017, thousands of youth rode cross-country during the Canada 150 celebrations. The Canada Strong Pass builds on that legacy — only bigger, bolder, and more inclusive.
“Canada Strong Pass is not just a ticket. It’s a movement — of belonging, of pride, and of rediscovery.”
— Canadian Heritage
